Daley Class Autumn 2021 Overview

Our Class Name

This week we have been learning about our class name. Our class is named after Tom Daley. The children looked at some information about Tom Daley online. They then had a go at thinking about three questions they would like to ask him. Finally, the children created their own gold medals. Here are some examples.

PE

In PE this term, we have been learning how to throw and catch. We have been developing and using these skills in different games. 

Harvest

For out Harvest festival assembly we learnt about Harvest in Bradninch. The children learnt about the farms around them and what they grew. Some children also wrote some great Harvest poems. Here are some examples to show you. 

History

For our hook into Ancient Egyptian, we had a very exciting lesson as we made the apparatus into a tomb and hid artefacts. The children worked in groups to go around the apparatus and find different artefacts. They had to ask questions and talk about what they told us about the past. We were learning how to be historians.

Black History Month

For black history month, the children learnt about Rosa Parks. We had a great discussion in class and the children listened to and shared ideas.
